+++ Flash delivery to Munich via DHL, as expected no customs or similar annoyances +++ +++ I knew that the device comes with a US keyboard +++ Therefore, that was no surprise, and whoever doesn't want that should pay attention to it beforehand.. The first impression is really very good: The AceBook 8 arrived cleanly processed, with a full battery. The start-up went smoothly – the device booted up immediately, Windows was fully installed and ready for use. The display (FHD, 15.6 inches) is absolutely fine for this price class: sharp, decent viewing angles thanks to IPS. Of course, the first real work assignment took a little while because countless Windows updates had to run first. But that's normal for new Windows devices. The upgrade to Windows 11 Pro went smoothly according to my software vendor's instructions.. The Office 2024 installation, on the other hand, was rather annoying – all the pre-installed Office 365 trial versions had to be removed first before the new version ran cleanly.. 🔋 Battery & Volume The battery lasts well – for office applications, browsing, and streaming, 5–7 hours are realistic. Positive: The device stays cool even during extended use and is practically inaudible. No annoying fan noise.. 🌐 Connectivity If you want to use Ethernet (LAN), you have to buy a USB-to-Ethernet adapter – unfortunately, a LAN port is not built-in. WLAN works, but you notice that the built-in WLAN chip is not the strongest. The connection is okay, but the speed drops noticeably at a greater distance from the router. Here, an external WLAN stick might be worthwhile if you need a more stable connection.. ⚠ What you should know: – The keyboard is US layout → German labeling is missing, but the layout can of course be changed in Windows. – Processing and feel: Top for the price, nothing rattles, hinges stable. – No keyboard backlight. – Memory can be easily expanded (M.2 SSD). 💡 Conclusion: The AceBook 8 is an inexpensive everyday laptop that is absolutely sufficient for office work, browsing, and media consumption. Those looking for LAN or a German keyboard will need to add something. But for the price, it's a surprisingly solid purchase.

There are driver problems with the keyboard. The driver is not installed, which means that you cannot access the keyboard. A download is not possible either. It simply cannot find a driver. Not even an external keyboard was recognized... That was it for me with the device. It was clear that compromises would have to be made for the price. But these kind of compromises?
