A sequel to the horror/action masterpiece ``Resident Evil,'' which was released on the PlayStation and became a huge hit, and was later ported to the Sega Saturn and PC. Set in Raccoon City two months after that incident, Claire, the younger sister of Chris, one of the main characters in the previous work, and Leon, a rookie police officer who has just been assigned to the Raccoon City Police Department, risk their lives on the run.
The previous work had two main characters, Chris and Jill, but no matter which one you chose, the story remained the same. However, a major feature of ``Resident Evil 2'' is that it uses a ``zapping system'' that changes the development of the other character greatly depending on which of the two main characters is cleared first. Only when you clear the game with the two main characters will you understand the whole story, and by changing the order can you enjoy different developments.
This work is a renewed version released on August 6, 1998 (the original was released on January 29 of the same year). Compatible with Dual Shock, the controller in your hand vibrates in time with the character's actions and production, further heightening the fear. Users will also be happy to know that three new game modes have been added: ``ROOKIE'' mode, where players have powerful weapons from the start, ``U.S.A. Version'' mode, which has a higher difficulty level, and ``EXTREME BATTLE'' mode, which eliminates scenarios and effects and focuses on strategies such as fighting enemies and collecting items.
